About PublicRidicule.com
PublicRidicule.com exists to compile and point out the things in our lives that deserve to be mocked and parodied. Stupidity runs rampant in our culture. Some would say this site is proof and they may be right. But that’s not what this is about. We’re not above poking fun at the basest and most low-brow elements of pop-culture like Britney or emo kids. Likewise, we will not shy away from issues and institutions that are typically insulated from ridicule like race and religion. It’s all fair game here and it’s all about the laughs. Don’t take it personally. If you’re predisposed to being easily offended, this isn’t the site for you. Frequently we will laugh at subjects that the hyper-sensitive will find hurtful and wrong. These people can’t take a joke and don’t belong here.
PublicRidicule.com is about comedy, parody, and satire and we want you to have a good laugh while you’re here.
Founder and Editor
Belasco has been writing and/or performing comedy on radio or on the web for over 15 years. Wanting to do something more interesting than work in retail, he sought out his first radio gig at the age of 16 and was hired at the local Southern Gospel radio station in his hometown in North Carolina. Left to his own devices on a regular weekend shift and hating the stations format, Belasco entertained himself by making veiled double entendres on mic and playing inappropriate music. He also enjoyed inserting whispered subliminal messages to the audience when the live Preachers refused to wear headphones for monitoring what they were broadcasting. The boss obviously never listened because he held this gig until he graduated high school. Upon entering college, Belasco got involved with the campus FM station and was quickly awarded with a 2-hour, 5-night-a-week show discussing politics and pop-culture. He decided against making radio a career but continued to make on-air guest appearances while writing and performing with the now-defunct sketch comedy troupe “Too Much Free Time”.
Belasco is now a part-time writer/podcaster and full-time software developer.
